LGBTQ Wellness was created in 2015 as a community outreach and support program intended to uplift the mental health of LGBTQ community members, and their allies. The program provides community outreach, mental health education and training, and engages in mental health advocacy and policy work to encourage the support and holistic wellness of the LGBTQ community.
LGBTQ Wellness envisions a diverse, multigenerational LGBTQ community in Santa Clara County that is strengthened by an affirmative culture of wellness.
Funding for LGBTQ Wellness is provided primarily by the County of Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department, through the Ethnic Cultural Communities Advisory Committee (for more information about the ECCAC, check out their program online at https://www.sccgov.org/sites/bhd/info/PeerSupport/ECCAC/Pages/default.aspx)
LGBTQ Wellness Peer Support Staff have backgrounds in social activism, community mobilization, education, public health, public administration, and mental health as well as expressive arts, music, and culture. We also host interns from related academic backgrounds. We are committed to providing peer support services and resources to our community.
